Slip rentals

#1 Post by old jim » Mon Aug 15, 2016 6:04 pm

Don't want to hijack C-M-25's post but I am wondering what you pay for a yearly
slip rental? I was getting a seasonal rental for about 800 dollars( May to October).
When the drought hit and the lakes started drying up in northern Ca. There was a
great influx of boaters to the lake I keep my boat at. It was take a yearly rental or
loose my slip. Whiskey town lake keeps a full pool all summer, the water is released
into the Sacramento River. Cold water for the salmon. Any hoo I pay 1750.00 for a
the slip. old jim

That seems pretty cheap. I wish we had the facilities around here for a covered slip rental. We have chitty docks and lots of restrictions on privately owned covered docks.

Wow, that's a heck of a deal. I have a 10x24 covered slip. $165 per month or $1,980 per year. I pay an extra $50 a month for nearby trailer storage, so $2,580 total. Don't know why Middle Tennessee is so expensive. Only 4 marinas on Percy Priest so it may be a lack of competition.

Covered slip, power, water if I bring a hose, $1,200 annually. And a parking space about 30 feet away. No trailer parking, so it follows me home.

I pay about $930 a season (April 1st - November 1st). Water and electric included (unless you have an air conditioner). Docks are kept extremely clean from seagulls waste, pretty much guarded, fuel was $2.68 last fill up, grounds are very clean, fish cleaning house with water and freezer where you put the fish guts), all around the nicest marina I have ever dock in.

We pay $340 a month. Covered, power, water, security, etc... Reading these other posts, I feel we are getting screwed. Blessing or curse is that we basically have year round boating in South Texas. There are only two marinas on the lake, and Suntex owns them both.

We pay 80.00 bucks a month for a covered slip with water & electric here in our HOA marina. One must own a home here and must purchase the slip too but once past that it is a small price to pay for having a covered slip in a "private" marina just a few minutes from the house.... I rent a 2nd slip from another owner who does not use his anymore so that I can keep both my boats together...

$0 yearly cost in our boathouse. Of course, we had to build the boathouse originally, and it was a $5K investment in 1992. I did add a PWC lean to boathouse with a 2800 lb. Ace lift and added a metal roof over the old shingle roof.

Most new boathouses are made of concrete decks above and beside the boats--at a cost of $65K for a single boathouse and about $100K for double boathouses.

But it's really nice to have your boat hanging in the boathouse in your front yard. Funny thing is that we don't really put that many hours on our boats yearly.
