Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

Welp, a pontoon just ran 114 mph. Didn't catch any other details other than it had trip 300's pushing it.

What happens at the lake stays at the lake. Unless I have my camera handy.

It was Brad Rowland in his South Bay. He hit 109 (I think) in his previous South Bay 925 also at The Shootout. This is his new one. Both boats had triple 300 Mercury outboards. It is really an amazing run. You can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXGzaPU ... e=youtu.be
Fast forward to the 2:24:30 mark in that video to see the run. Very cool! It is really an impressive and smooth run and it's worth watching. :scared

We were there for it. Brad had a great run, he was running in the 120's at his home lake, with trip 400 Verados! A lot of fast pontoon boats. The Dorris family ran their Playcrafts and posted some real good speeds. Jim's wife was the fastest in the drag race between her and Jim. Manitou ran 2 new twin outboard models that they just got delivered Friday night before Saturdays Shootout. They propped one on Friday night and ran it Saturday. And the other ran with factory recommended props. Wasn't the fastest, but it looked really good. They both posted real good speeds. The crowd just loves seeing the pontoons run. Its a new race breed and super fun to watch. Saw a Donzi start chine walking and spin out. The driver was pulled from the water 18 seconds after te crash and the boat sank within 1 minute. He was released from the Hospital a few days later, ready to race again in his larger boat. His 22' Donzi was found by a dive team and surfaced yesterday. His motor, 950 hp looks intact! I'll be back down at next years Shootout. Always exciting!
