Hit toon, insurance job.

Has anyone delt with progressive insurance. Had an unfortunate event happen last weekend. Not exactly sure what happend, but heard a ping while running wide open across the lake and just thought is was the way the chop hit under the boat. At first thought it bent the front fin, nothing, then got to looking at one of the toons they replaced last year for a cracked weld, nothing. I noticed the boat leaning hard to the port side only when trimmed up on plane, so I checked all toons for leaks and pulled drain plugs with no water in any. I finally noticed a large dent on the starboard side towards the rear of the toon. There must have been something partially submerged in about 200' of water and put an un-repairable dent in the 1 toon. I'm probably lucky it didn't hit the outboard or anything else. Any experience dealing with insurance and what I should/shouldn't tell them would help. Thanks!

Hard to see what the actual damage is, since the pictures are HUGE and upside down.
But when I had a claim with Progressive I called it in (might be able to do it on-line), they sent out an adjuster, looked at it, took pictures, OK'd the repairs and I took it to the shop to get fixed. 100% simple process and 100% satisfied. I don't know what coverage you have, but I have no deductible, and they covered everything.

I have Progressive on my fifth wheel trailer. Punched a couple of holes on the side and slide, and they didn't bat an eye to pay $17K to get it fixed. They actually have a dedicated RV adjuster in the Smokies that's used to paying $110 per hour for labor--ouch.
Don't let anyone tell you that boat and RV insurance is not expensive. Most people don't use their boats that many hours per year, and it's very expensive per hour of use.

Sorry about the pictures! I tried to adjust them, they seem normal from my files, but when uploaded change.. hmm Anyway I appreciate the positive feedback. I was a little nervous from some reviews about progressive, but all seems well. Fortunately our season is coming to an end and hopefully it can be fixed during winter.

Keep us posted on how things go.
Hopefully, you'll have your toon back shipshape by next season.
