Fuel lines ?

I want to replace the fuel lines on my 2005 Suzuki 90 df. These aren't the braided type,they are the softer ones with a plastic sleeve over them. I don't see a hose kit listed though at least one of these seems to be a "formed" hose. I'm thinking bulk hose from the auto store may kink. what do others use ?

Ok, i did find the fuel lines / hoses ...had to click on fuel pump and it also list the hoses.

Auto store hose is NOT OK.

Make sure you have marine grade, USCG approved hose. Non-marine hose will deteriorate, both from the inside out and from exposure to the sun.

What's the difference? The difference is that when the auto hose deteriorates pieces will go into your engine, fuel pump, filters, carbs/injectors etc. clogging them and leaving you stuck in the middle of the lake. Or when the leaking fuel catches fire and burns your boat (and anything within 10 feet) and your insurance company won't cover it because you put non-marine fuel hose on it. and believe me when I tell you that that will be one of the first thing any investigator will look at.

Put out the extra money and do it the RIGHT way. Get marine the grade fuel line.

I thought that marine fuel hose was a requirement only for enclosed boats (?)

The INside of auto & marine fuel hose is the same but marine hose has a different material for the outer jacket that limits vapor permeability (to reduce vapor build-up below deck on enclosed hulls), has better UV and water resistance (for Type B), and a better rating for flame exposure. It's the fire rating that everyone obsesses over but how important is that on a pontoon boat where the tank is inches away and won't resist fire for 2.5 minutes?
