A Christmas poem from good friends Dave & Alma

#1 Post by lakerunner » Sun Dec 18, 2016 12:46 pm

T’was the night before Christmas,
Out bright was the moon.
Oh how we wished,
To cruise on our toon.
The weather was freezing,
The boat was in storage.
But our need to go cruising
Suffered no shortage
I jumped to my feet
Put my hand to my head,
I know what to do,
Let’s rent one instead
But the weathers damn cold
The waters like ice
We need to go south
Where the temps are so nice
So I picked up the phone,
And I called the airline.
We need to go south,
I begged with a whine
Where will you go?
She asked with tired voice.
Someplace with pontoons
We must have that choice.
I can send you to Texas,
But you aught to know.
Jamaica is the place,
You really must go.
Can we rent toons there?
Can that be the place?
Of course you can
And some you can race
Speed isn’t important
That isn’t our plan.
We’ll just lie on the sundeck
And work on our tan
The boat can be old,
Have two toons or three
As long as it floats
We’ll be happy as can be
We’ll float on the water
Then go for a spin
And when we get hungry
We’ll look for a fin.
After we catch a few fish,
We’ll fire up the grill
We really can’t wait
Just imagine the thrill
For a week we’ll fish
And swim and doze.
Soon it will be over
And home we shall goes.
And then it will be New Years
With just four months to go
Till month of May comes
And our toon we can show.
I hope we can make it
It doesn’t seem near
Until then we’ll talk
With our friends right here
Time will go quickly
Let’s hope that’s a yes
Until then we wish you
Merry Christmas and God Bless
Merry Christmas
