You can probably pull up a UTube.com video showing how to do the job. On some motors, the trim tab has to be removed (by hex wrench) and there's a bolt from under the trim tab that keeps the lower unit from coming off.

Last time I changed my water pump, I had trouble getting the l/u to go back in. I finally put the lower unit and the motor into neutral and had someone push the throttle into forward as I was pressing up on the lower unit. The lower unit slipped right in.

Be sure to pay close attention when disassembling the old impeller so you get the vanes on the new impeller going the same direction. It's easy to put'em in backwards.

If someone's got a relatively new motor and is careful with the disassembly, they don't need all new gaskets, etc. If someone's got an old motor, they really should take the time to have the lower unit seals pressure and vacuum tested before installing the new impeller. It's a maintenance item that's so often overlooked. Have a lower unit leak that's not promptly fixed and you may toast your lower unit (like I did on my old boat.)
