fellow pontooners, can someone please help.I've got a 1994 21 ft.Suntracker Partybarge with a Merc 40 H 2 stroke engine Last time on the lake the toon was hard to start. It took a while but it did get going.I got home and decided to change the fuel filter. The old one did look dirty so I changed it.It started right up and ran smooth. The problem now is the alarm beeps constantly which tells me in the book that the engine is hot.It starts to beep imediately after it starts.I've got the ears on it with plenty of water going through the motor while it is running, since I've used the ears before and it never beeped .Anyone have any ideas what the problem is I sure would appreciate any input..Thanks, Dan Gray C-falls Montana

Im going to take a guess that its not getting enough OIL or the oil tank is low?????
that is if you are running the vro pump on the motor

Details on the motor in question would probably be helpful. Year? Brand? 2 or 4 stroke? Nature of beep, constant? intermittant?
You might want to consider a signature line at the bottom of your posts detailing info on your boat, motor, trailer. This will help the fine folks here if you have any questions in the future.

it's either oil or not enough water.
Do you have a good stream coming out of the motor? If not, it could be the impeller.
