Old motor question...

#1 Post by Retired OG » Thu Jul 06, 2017 10:22 pm

Is there a fairly reliable way to gauge the temperature of an old motor? I'm getting close to the point where I'm gonna need to stick it in the lake to tune the carbs and check for leaks. The motor is a 1972 Evinrude 50 hp. I'm gonna mount a good running 15 hp. off one pontoon "just in case".

I'd be interested in this too. I always like to know stuff like this. I think I saw a youtube video of someone adding a temp gauge. I didn't watch it I just saw the title ...might have to look for it again.
