It makes it easier to post photos on forums etc. I guess also is a way to store your photos. But without the functionality they are getting rid of it isn't much use for me.

I'm still seething about this issue. I've been participating on several forums covering a variety of topics, including creating many tutorials. I have used Photobucket for at least 15 years for all this free information I've shared & now all the illustrations are gone. I don't have time & energy to backtrack all my posts and fix 100 links to a new hosting site--and many forums don't allow you to edit your own posts after a few minutes anyways.

Many people see the internet as a very temporary thing & don't expect any information there to be available a month later. Those people just shrug at this news. I wish I could.

How is the photo gallery in this forum looking since PB pulled the plug 6/30?
Any useful stickies now useless?
There are many photo-heavy enthusiast & hobby sites that are devastated, as well as Amazon & eBay sellers who've lost their product pictures.

There's an online petition started that attempts to change Photobucket, inc's (Ontela) mind:

I'm the same way. I have several forums etc. I have been a part of and even though it has been a while the photos from photobucket make it. I guess they know that and now want people to pay. I get wanting something but 400 a year is crazy. 50 a year I think people would go for. Or levels of use.

As for here and other places I have seen a good number of threads that are now useless. Guess they are holding the internet ransom at this point.

I'll sign the petition.

I've just deleted my photos from Photobucket, and told them to delete my account. In the block that asked why I wanted to delete my account, I chose the drop down choice that was "other" and then filled in the area that allowed for text..... told them I didn't like their new 3rd party hosting policy.

I'll just manually insert pics from my computer onto forum sites. Bummer..... had them for about 10 years or so.

I'm guessing all the threads on any forums that have Photobucket pics linked, will now not show up, just a block saying something like "this pic is no longer available" or some other BS....

I use it to create my own memes-but the last year it has been a total clusterfuck. Popup ads that freeze the site, Explorer crashing every time I use it. Tried to transfer pics today--not worth it. Click on something---just spins for up to a minute before it works--or crashes altogether---fuggem!

Before my memes disappear--I didn't create this one but it crax me up !

Probably slow due to the mass customer exodus bogging them down!

If I can stream MOVIES 24/7 from Netflix for $10 a month how can PB justify charging $400 to hotlink to pictures? AND they'll probably still have the annoying pop-over ads.

The only people who can afford that are high-volume eBay and Amazon sellers who use PB for thousands of item pictures--and even they might rather invest the time moving everything to free host Imgur rather than lose profits or raise prices.

PB has cut their own throat.
