I just got an email from photobucket stating I had to upgrade to get web hosting -- using img in forums, etc. Cost = ~$400/yr!!
Here is a link mentioning it....

I'll be looking for another service. Any ideas?

The only reason I have Photobucket is to link to 3rd party sites. If it starts costing me I will go to someone else. I'm sure they are just trying to make money but this is pretty much the only reason I made the account and $33+ a month isn't worth it for me and the few I upload.

From the Photobucket site. ... Guess I am finding a new hosting site. I get asking people to subscribe but 400 a year is ridiculous IMO.

What is odd is that some of my post still let the images from PhotoBucket still pass through. An example might be

The two images there are embedded.

its not a scam, it was on the news network, really stupid move on PB's part, people will be dropping like flies, same thing people said about facebook when a rumor spread years ago said they were going to start charging, everyone I knew said they would just cancel the account.

Why is it that photo hosting sites are even needed? Sites like Facebook and craigslist just let you use what is in your photo library....
