Mooring cover in a storm

We are looking like we are going to miss out on really heavy winds from Irma, but still expecting tropical storm winds with potential hurricane gusts. We are in a fairly protected cove except from winds coming anywhere from northwest to northeast. I don't have a trailer so pulling the boat isn't an option, but I want some input on what to do as far as covering the boat.

I've read both opinions that a mooring cover is a good idea and a bad idea. I'd like some thoughts from you guys. It's a factory cover with snaps. I'm going to stow and low radar both bimini tops, and I have bumpers on the boat and dock and plenty of lines to multiple attachment points so I'm covered there, just not sure if I should cover or not.

I personally would not cover it.
Best of luck to you.

That's the way I'm leaning. If it can't handle 55mph towing I'm hesitant to put it on with 70 mph gusts possible.
