Table Mounts - Thread Lock vs. Sequoia mounting systems

#1 Post by steve1313 » Tue Oct 03, 2017 4:19 am

I want to add a table but I don't want to drill a hole for the post in my floor. I've found two different flush mounting systems (Thread-Lock and Sequoia) and was wondering if anybody had any experience, pros/cons of either system. Thanks!

I have used both the Sequoia and Redwood by ITC they are both no hold drill to mount. The Sequoia has a smaller flatter base and seems stronger in my opinion as it uses a 3 winged flange to wedge up whereas the Redwood uses a small bi-winged bolt. Since I'm using my table to support an umbrella for extra shade I wish that I actually had the mount that uses a large hole with a support cup in place of the Redwood as the bot came with.

My Sun Tracker Party Barge came w/ a Sequoia system at the bow and I added a second one at the rear L-shaped seats. We have been very happy with them. They are very sturdy.

Do you have a picture of the two different types? I have ordered a Harris, and it looks like a flat flange (no hole in the deck) with cam clamps on the table base attached to the table pole.

I think Harris uses their own...

Here's the thread lock one that I bought. I ended up buying two tables with both systems and figured I'd return the one I didn't like. I installed the Sequoia yesterday and it's plenty strong enough at the base. The only thing I didn't like was the table top spins freely when installed. I'll fix that with a cotter pin, so I think I'm all set.

Opie - It's a little hard to tell from your picture, but it looks like if you remove your table the base could be a real toe stubber! It also looks like the seat mounts are the thread-lock system.

I f I wanted to add another table I would add the same mount that is already on the boat that way I could move the tables around, and then it looks uniformed. But If I had an older boat I would just do the cheapest and safest way.

This is what I did in both cases. The Sun Tracker used the Sequoia mount and it worked great being able to move the table around and the base is very unobtrusive and flat. The Berkshire used the Redwood and while it is a little larger least it is not a toe stubber; but I just don't think it is as strong at the Sequoia.

This is the one Harris uses, not really a toe stubber, they also give a cover to use when the table is out.
