The season has ended for me. Brought the toon home yesterday. So
the fun begins, seems I have read that you all east of the divide put
the lower unit up while in the slip. At the marina I use all the lower
units are down. Anyhoo what would recommend as a cleaner, cleaner
wax, or just plain wax for your outboard engine?? Regards, old jim

I would just wash it with soap and water. Or use a car wash detergent. I have an OEM engine cover on the cowling.

Most of my cleaning and waxing is done in May when I polish the toons. It is nice to keep my boat under roof in a boathouse all year, however.

You might want to read what the manufacturer has to say....I've read more than one manual that has said the motor should be kept in the down position unless it hangs too low for safe travel while towing...otherwise it should always be kept in the down position.

I always raise ours when slipped. I did have to look in the manual to find this info:

"The motor should be tilted up out of the water
when you moor the boat ...."

I did use a solution of boat wash detergent to clean it best I could.
