Boat came in...

So I finally can post regarding our boat, but the news isn’t all good. I called the dealer today to inquire the status of our G3 on order, and am told our salesman is no longer there. I’m thinking oh boy, we went over a lot of details, including add ons to be ordered and done, etc.

45 minutes later the sales manager called. I was glad it was him as he was involved in our deal and had everything in the file, thank goodness. He says our boat arrived yesterday! I’m like...great! Then he says we have a problem. Okay, give it to me straight. He says that the trucker drove from Missouri and arrived safely. Then ...as he pulled into their lot, hits a tree limb and dents the starboard fence.

Apparently the new fence is already on order. He asked if I wanted it now and then return it, or wait for it to be corrected. Of course I said I would wait. I know once dealerships have your money your repairs on not a priority. Especially one your not paying for anyway, I didn’t expect to be posting this story as our first boat experience, but it could be worse. It looks like the fence should be easy to take off and replace.

I’ll try to post some pics he sent me.

There's a guy on our lake has one of those.

He and his family enjoy it.

I hope you enjoy yours.

Do you realize the rub rail is missing on the starboard side? I'm assuming they took it off as part of repairing the dent, but I just wanted to make sure that wasn't something else the driver damaged.

Hopefully the boat will be repaired soon and you'll be on the water!

Steve1313, no, I did not catch that the rub rail was off. I saw that area and thought the plastic travel cover had left some residualfrom being removed, but now see what you mean. I will have to inquire about that. Thanks for pointing that out!

I'm guessing they removed the rub rail to get at the bolts for the fence.

I called today, and they said the rub rail was off for inspection. I don’t know if it is a common PDI practice or they did it after the driver rubbed up against the tree. The only damage was to the fence.
