Veranda is the company that has an interesting looking interlocking all aluminum deck system. Checking for leaks in a pontoon is pontoon construction 101, kinda odd for a company that brags about there aluminum construction to forget to do a pressure test. I wonder if the buyer got unlucky.

If your state has a lemon law, maybe it will apply to boats. If it were me, I would insist that they buy it back at what I paid for it or we would go to court

Wow! You've certainly been through the ringer on this one. I actually looked at Veranda pontoons at one of the boat shows I attended last year and I was impressed with them, although I ended up buying another brand.

There's no doubt Veranda delivered a boat with problems, but your dealer sure hasn't helped. My number one rule when buying a boat is "Pick the dealer, then pick the boat". When I hear stories like yours, it only strengthens my belief that without a good dealer, you can be really screwed. Boat manufacturers don't seem to be setup to deal with end users so the dealer MUST be that conduit.

I sure hope you get it all worked out soon. Nothing worse than having a new boat that you really can't use!

Good Luck

I custom ordered a Veranda boat at the Dallas boat show with the Veranda rep. After 8 weeks of waiting and talking to Veranda they said they could not build by boat with the design the Veranda Rep. and Veranda Engineer promised me. They told me I would have to move up to another boat and pay $1000 more to get what they promised in writing. They would not budge on the price. I raised a lot of pain with the boat dealer I went thru and they finally cancelled my contract and sent me my deposit back. 8 weeks of waiting that the Veranda sales rep promised as a time frame and then call and say they cannot build what the sales rep. and the Veranda engineer promised... and now wanting more money!! I guess I got lucky compared to you and did not end up getting the boat. I purchased a Lowe pontoon off the floor at Cablela's with almost everything Veranda promised for less money and no waiting.
Buyer Beware on Veranda!!!

Funny how 2 people can have the same brand of boat and have completely different experiences. I just traded my 2016 Veranda 22V w/250 Varado in on a pointy nose boat and I was sorry to see it go. We never had a spec of trouble with it. It had 27" logs and handled like a dream. if I were to go back to a tri-toon I am not sure I would even bother looking at other brands.

Another person posted this another forum

I went through hell with Veranda. I purchased a new V22PF with a 250 SHO in August of 2015. The boat was nothing but trouble, I had to replace both the starboard and port pontoons due to leaks and dents which were obviously not due to impacts. Had to replace the starboard pontoon twice. Upholstery is cheap, panels are stuck on with double sided tape which comes loose. Customer service was terrible. I finally got fed up took a big loss and traded it for a Nautic Star deck boat. I would not recommend Veranda pontoons to my worst enemy.

So you have posted 2 instances of 2nd hand info about how bad these boats are, but never owned one yourself?
Hmm, seems like you may have an agenda. Just sayin.

Hey eddy, I am curious, what is the top speed of your Veranda V22RFL with 250hp Mercury?

Hey Willy-on a mirror flat day with a 1/4 tank of fuel it would hit 51mph. But under normal conditions 48 would be about right. Always felt solid as a rock .

Thx eddy, i thought it might hit 50. That looks like a pretty light pontoon for a 250hp. The lake I boat on has a lot of high hp pontoons, but they are all heavy and big pontoon boats so they need it.

Have no agenda what so ever.

Just warn people about possible problems down the road.

Don't you see a theme going on with complaints?

Reviews and actual customer service treatment is a big factor in buying anything.

Not sure why people get butt hurt when honest reviews and complaints are posted.

Right. This is an honest review:

"Another person posted this another forum

Where was this posted? By whom? What was Veranda's response to these problems? Who was the dealer?
Did the pontoon fairies come and dent the pontoons?

This is what at my church we would call gossip.
