it was a little cold early on today, but it warmed to almost 60, so "HAZE GRAY" had to launch. pretty on the bay.

so apparently, I angered the "boating gods" by going out this past Monday, in the middle of January. so now on Wednesday its 22 and feels like 9. the base is closed, so no work, but they win, I'm not going out today. LOL.

We've had a pretty mild winter so far....lots of people have been out on the lake all winter...this past weekend, there was a steady stream of people down at the boat launch....Our lowest temp. here was around 32 about a month ago...noontime temps have generally been around the mid sixties.

Last winter was pretty mild for us in Oklahoma, but this year has been pretty brutal as far as cold temps. Supposed to be in the 60's by this weekend though - unfortunately we won't be at the lake. But next weekend, if the temps are still around 60, we might just have to drop the boat and go for a nice ride. We'll just have to be careful, with the lake being down almost 4' from normal though. Seems like it has been way too long since our last boat ride. I'm ready for summer!

This winter is crazy.. I live in Shreveport, Louisiana.. known for extreme heat, not cold.. but two days ago we got almost 2 inches of snow... okay, I know that's not much, but it is down here.. they closed all the schools for 3 days.. yes, 3 days... Now I am from the midwest ( near St. Louis ) and 2 inches of snow is like " so what "... not down here.. PLUS i just looked at the national weather service app on my phone and according to that, it is actually colder here in North Louisiana than it is in St. Louis.... what the hell?

crazy temps, Pensacola was basically shut down yesterday (Wednesday) all the bridges were covered with ice from the freezing rain during the night Tuesday. But this weekend looks promising, if it hits 60 and sun, I'm gone.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but every major developed nation on earth is throwing boatloads (pun intended) of money towards research/programs to control the weather....one particular nuance to the weather in my location, has been happening this past week, that makes me think somebody is doing something to screw with the temps. here....once the sun comes up, the temperature quickly goes from the mid forties to the low sixties....then around two in the afternoon, it starts cooling down to the point where I can see my breath and you can actually "FEEL" the cool setting in...it's weird....no wind and no discernible breeze...then around sundown, a fog bank starts rolling up the hill....the fog gets really thick up until around 9 pm, then disappears....it may be some kind of natural phenomena, but it's weird...or maybe it's just me....
