Make sure it has a limited slip differential in the rear axle. Hopefully they are standard these days in 2wd trucks...

Sounds like if you "never" have had to use 4WD, then if you don't change launches, you'll likely not need it. Personally, I much prefer 4WD as my ramps are sometimes dirt or slimy. Plus I like having the center diff locked when I put the truck in park. At least if the rear wheels slide on grime, the front axle should be locked in and keep the whole vehicle from sliding. I don't have the luxury of not having to get out of the driver seat.

I've used various vehicles over the years and finally moved up to an 06 F250. My thoughts are that I would not want to go backwards to an F150 or SUV. My guess is that for the cost of another vehicle, you could build a nice 7.3.

I prob have a similar truck as curtiscapk. 2015 F150 XLT 2.7 twin turbo V-6. 325 HP I think it is rated for 8100 pounds. Has a button to lock the rear wheels on slippery ramps. I get 24 mpg on the highway-not sure what I get towing. Has a button for "towing" and "sport" modes. Not sure where your price point is--new trucks are pretty pricey. Mine stickered at around 47K---and is just an XLT. No problems yet-36K miles on it now. Good luck.

Thanks For all the input. I decided to go with a 4 wheel drive after watching a 2 wheel drive spinning on a the ramp at St. Andrews Park in Panama City at low tide. I have used that ramp before with the offshore boat and have had to use 4 wheel drive so I decided to drive by and take a look. Anyway I sold a tractor and pan to generate more funds to go along with trading in the F250. I got a Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 with the Hemi. I also put the additional bumper to bumper coverage for 100k miles or 84 months since they were giving a special on it at the dealer. Here are few pics of the Tow vehicle.

I agree with the others... you really don't need 4wd.. I've been pulling my 20 foot bennington for 8 years behind our Toyota 4 Runner 2 wd.. 4.0 V6. I've also pulled my son's 22 foot toon with dual axle trailer with no issues.
