1998 mariner 60hp bigfoot power trim

power trim is dragging slow both up and down.
battery power is good. so where do i start, really don't wanna fork out big bucks yet to replace

so where do i start to tinker at ?

If it was mine, I would start by jumping straight to the power wires going to the TTU, you can trace the wires coming up from it into the engine compartment, they will go to the TTU relay/s. Most are Green and Blue, the relays are used to swap polarity +/- some systems are 2 wire, some are 3 wire. The idea is to provide the TTU with direct battery voltage from a known good fully charged battery (a good jump pack will work) if it works strong, then you have corrosion or loose connections somewhere in your wiring that powers the TTU and you would need to chase that down. if the TTU is still slow and sluggish with direct power, then you would need to replace the TTU motor. Let us know what your wiring looks like, how many wires, color code etc.. maybe a picture of the TTU relays.
