Ted.. I agree completely.. on this one threat alone I've gotten several great ideas... as well as reasons not to do what I was intending to do... i've said it all along.. there is a lot of knowledge on these boards.

EMT conduit brackets, any building supply place has them

The emt brackets and plastic conduit also work well to cover the boat so you can stand up under it to work on boat!

thanks fredeboy... looks like a lot of you had pretty much the same idea... I'm going to want to build two of these anchor systems... just guessing, but I'm thinking 2 "store bought" systems would have run me between 300 to 400 bucks if not more... guessing I can home build two anchor pin systems now for less than $50. Thanks to all your suggestions... thanks again
