The Ultimate Pontoon Adventure...

Well, not really a traditional "Pontoon" but...

The Admiral and I have been getting serious about this:
  • Sell The Pontoon
    Sell The House
    Sell the Cars, Truck, Camper
    Sell everything
Buy a BIG Live-aboard ocean-going Power Catamaran (That's like a really big Pontoon, right?)
Spend the rest of our lives boating from port to port around the world
Yeah, I think we're really going to do this.
No more snow to shovel, no more upkeep on cars, no more driving on a "road" - just pull into the next port, and see what there is to see. Uber it around town if needed.
The hard part: Where to start? Seattle? Panama City? Key West? I have heard that a slip in Long Beach is $400 a month. That's stupid cheap.

AWESOME, I would do it in a heartbeat. Did a week on a big cat last summer in the BVI. Cant wait to do it again.

If you are a beginner at it, I would start in the Caribbean. Smoother water. Preferably in the winter months to get a feel for the boat before hurricane season.

Godspeed...research the ICW and do the loop, should take a year plus with weather, north during summer and south during winter, when you end up in FL, head East for 70 miles or so and spend another 6 months there, that is a our plan for retirement :nana

an a powered MEOW? hellz yeah, just be mindful of height limits, there is a bridge up north that limits big tall boats

Geez, if I start in Puget Sound, I can probably spend a very long time just exploring my way up to Juneau!

Yes, I've always wanted to do the loop, and I love the Caribbean... And Cuba is just sitting in the middle of all that begging to be experienced.

I always kinda preferred a trawler but then again I worked for a Hatteras dealer. Never was big on sail.

If your thinking that I recommend a Youtube channel called Gone With the Wynns. They were novice sailors in the beginning coming from RV travel Very enlightening what you need to know and do to live the life aboard

My buddy is down in the British Virgins on a 57 foot power cat with three other couples. It is his third trip on cats.

Online they look good. But they appear to be very expensive to buy outright and the rental units may have fractional ownership like a time share.
