THE FLOATER stays outside on our lake lots all year. It seems like every 2 years my cover can't keep up with the rain amounts. I used to use the regular adjustable poles with half tennis balls on top to keep the poles from poking thru. Well I always ended up with a valley that would collect rain water and eventually a rip. In my head I had invented a pvc system using pipe 4-way connectors and holders screwed outside the rail. This past weekend I was rebuilding my walls in my big camper (hidden leak) and I had some boards laying out and the light bulb went off! I'll let the pics do the talking tell me what you think. 2-2x6's, 2-studs, and 4 poles. I drilled holes in the boards to keep poles tight. I think we got some rain down there last night so I'll know how she did Friday! Oh yea I power washed THE FLOATER's carpet and walls first time since the rebuild in 2013. She looks great! I hate sideways pics!

I like the idea provided strong winds don't topple the "wall" under the cover. For my PVC pipe cover frame I tied lengths of 1/4" rope every few feet over the top of the ridge and lash the ends to the fence rail. These "rafters" help give the cover some support along the slope, too--we get a lot of snow in the winter.

Great idea! I'll use that for winter. The cover is super tight, it has to be better than before!

I use a long ratchet cargo strap. Hock it to the front and back of the boat and support it with wooden dowels cut to length to achieve the right pitch. The side of the cover is secured with adjustable straps not to blow off.

You can buy snap on plastic grommets if you need more ties. They close with a tarp in between.
