Small Pontoons/Tri-toons
Hi, does anyone know a manufacturer that makes a 19-20 ft Pontoon/tri-toon that allows for more than a 90hp engine (ideally 150hp) ? The largest boat I can fit in my slip is 20ft. I've been searching but no one seems to make. Thanks!
Re: Small Pontoons/Tri-toons
Lowe makes a nice 19' but it is limited to 115 HP.
I typically see 150's on boats 21'-22' or larger.

Big and ugly but we love our 1999/2000 Crest II DL with a Yamaha F115

Check with this company as they make custom toons.

That would be a fun tritoon. I thought about going that size since I am on a small lake but the family is too big.
I went with Fire and Marine, they did the toons, I did the rest. There transom design is for 20" (L) Outboards which is what you would want for a small tritoon in my opinion. If you are fine with 2-strokes, Evinrude's G1 150hp would be a nice light 150 at about 410 lbs. The next would be Mercury's 150 fourstroke at 455 lbs.
If anyone gives you grief about that much HP on a 18' tritoon, go tell them to check out the bass boats. Besides your setup would fall under the hull hp formula that someone came up with to steer manufactures in the right direction. (length x width) x 2 - 90 = Max HP

I have a 150 on my 22 footer. It runs 43 and believe me that's moving. Its rated for 200. It would do 47 or 48 with the G2 HO 200.
I couldn't imagine a 150 on a much lighter tritoon.

I have a 2016 Qwest tritoon LS820. It has a Yamaha 115 on it. I believe it's rated for a 150 but the 115 is fine. It is plenty big for the usual crew I carry, 4 adults 3 children. With a full boat I hit 28-30 mph. Just me and a friend I hit 35-38mph.
Re: Small Pontoons/Tri-toons
I also have an 18' Qwest tri-toon with a 115 that hits 40 MPH GPS. The 20 footers are rated for a 150 HP. I've had mine for 4 summers now and have never had an issue that I didn't create. The LS lines are beautiful, Now they have a series above that. Also Avalon does (or did) make them, And since Qwest has gotten popular other companies have built them as well, But I don't remember who.
