Waiting on a new Harris

Had been lurking and asking some questions...

Pulled the trigger on a new Harris Cruiser 210, with a 150 Merc. It should be delivered in March 2019. Amazing how much these stupid boats cost!!! This is their low end and it still stretched out price limit. But, even with Harris' low end, they keep them very nice. I did get the performance package 2. We added the extended rear deck and under seat lighting, and a couple odds and ends. But, they come well appointed.
I'd been planning in the 200, but this year they switched it to the 210.

I'm excited. It should be just right for our lake here in southern MO. I'll be switching our lift from a Vhull to the triton this winter.

As mild as this winter has been, I might be out in it in March!

Thanks for the info received here. This is my first pontoon, so had some catching up to do.

Congrats on the new boat! We too are waiting to take delivery in the spring on a new boat.

Harris was one of the brands we were looking at , but ended up with Tahoe. We got hooked on the idea of a full windshield and they were the only ones that made one in our price range. I know what you mean about pricing though. I couldn't believe how much the lower end models can go for by the time you add some options! The Harris cruiser and sunliner were the models we looked at. What floor plan did you choose?

Be sure to post plenty of pictures when you take delivery. I'm with you on hoping for a lame winter. I do snow removal and because of the new boat I just want winter to be done lol.

We got the 2 captain's chair floor plan. It will mostly be my wife and I, and my daughter. I didn't want a long one. At first I was going to get a 20 foot, but the models changed. Maybe if I had friends I want a big one, lol. If I got a longer one then that could attract friends. I'll stick with the short one! This should be just right for us. Some pleasure cruising, tubing, fishing. I wanted one where I could cruise at least 30mph as it 25 miles to the other end of the lake, and easily get to relatives 6 miles away.

Nice buy for you. I bet you're out on it early too. We used to live in WI. We got out first boat in the 90s and took possession in the early spring. We were out on the lake in our winter coats. lol. Enjoy it. More and more it seems the pontoon is the prefect package.

Cant wait!!!!!!!!!

There are many times I'll take my son to the lake before the dock at the launch is even in. Up here in the north we have to squeeze out every day of boating lol. It's amazing how 50 degrees is freezing weather in the fall but down right balmy in the spring!!!

KSKS... Congratulations on the new Harris.. They make a nice boat... You mentioned it was on the lower end of the harris line, but I agree with what you said. We have a "low end" bennington.. Next season we will have had it 10 years and it's been a great boat.. Never any issues to speak of and we couldn't be happier.... congrats on your new purchase and please post some pics when she get's delivered.

Bought a new Harris in 2012 and love it! Verado 150 moves it right along at Pomme de Terre Lake...thing still looks and runs like new. Well built and never regretted the purchase...can’t believe how high those boats are costing! Enjoy!!!

Mosnowman,

What did you decide on the lift for the boat?

Also, what do folks use for vinyl cleaning, conditioning?

I've always used 303 leather, vinyl cleaner, conditioner and protectant.. My seats still look great and the boat's 9 years old. I'm pretty sure they sell it or you can order from walmart.

Mosnowman,

What did you decide on the lift for the boat?
I went with Econolift. They are made at Lake of the Ozarks ( Camdenton ). They were the most economical that I could find, plus being about an hour away from Pomme de Terre I figured service would be easy if needed. I slip at Pomme de Terre State Park Marina.

Something I wasn’t going to do, but decided to go with was a remote control for the lift. Best decision EVER! Not sure what Lake you are on, but here with limited docks we have a constant “Slip Rat” problem. With the remote I pull out of the slip and remote raise it from my boat thus eliminating pesky slip rats, and keeping the lift out of water. When returning, hit the remote and pull right in. I love it! Captains Choice Remote. ( also Lake of the Ozarks )

Mosnoman,

Thanks for the info on the remote lift. Hadn't seen one of those before. I like it.

I'm also on the lake, way up the Pomme arm. I have a dock and will be retrofitting my lift from my bowrlder to the pontoon. Same folks that built the dock, so hopefully it will go ok.

But, may consider that blower for the toon and PWC. That would be great!.

Thanks,

ksks
