Tell tale not working while flushing

I have a 2015 Mercury 150 HP OB Motor and noticed while flushing that no water is coming from the tell tale. It is just dripping a bit. I checked for any obstruction but could not find anything. There was also no overheating recorded while on the water based on my Mercury Vessel View module. Could it be that my thermostat got stuck and this is the cause? I read various answers on the web that that maybe possible. I have a new one on order and will see if this fixes the problem but curious if someone experienced the same. Thermostat was not replaced since I have the toon and I operate mostly in salt.

Thank you,
Reiner

The couple i have, and have seen don't pee (all 2 strokes) i was told years ago it was a pressure/suck issue...oh!....oh!.... @lindalovelace. I kid, I kid......kinda :P
What does she do in water? I got a couple plastic barrels and use them now, they all flush in tubs, not on muffs

My 75HP Mercury pees fully while flushing on muffs. I know you've checked it - but - I was concerned once because the rate seemed slack - found that my muffs weren't well-seated.

I'm not sure what will happen in the water. I checked couple times during the day on the water but not before turning it off at the end. If the new thermostat will not fix it I'll drop it in the water on the trailer and see. I do not have muffs since I don't use them for flushing, just the integrated hose connection.

That’s gonna be the reason. Someone more knowledgeable than I will be able to confirm, but I seem to remember reading that the hose connection flush does not create peeing.
I will see if I can find where I read that.

Though this is not article I originally read, this has good info...such as don’t run the motor when using the hose connection.

I hope this helps.

Water always came out of the telltale while flushing except the last time. But I also found on the Mercury Parts Diagram website that there is a strainer on top of the motor the telltale hose is connected. I need to check that as well.
Thanks, for all replies!
BTW, here is the website: https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/par ... ts-catalog

Pick up a set of muffs, they are cheap. I just ran my new verado on mine for the first time last Sunday. (Changed the fuel filter and wanted to make sure it was primed) . Anyway once I shut it down my water pressure from the well was still letting water through the pee hole.

All my old 2 strokes would let water out once the hose was turned on. . Curious how the impeller is lubed with the flush hook up? Is that just for rinsing the motor of say " salt water" or for running it? Probably fine just curious as I've always used muffs.

When was the impeller last replaced?

my 200 merc pees while trimmed down but not trimmed up? when connected to the hose?? Cannot tell you why.
I have never tried turning up the water pressure too much, kind of afraid of doing that.

Problem fixed, replaced the Thermostat last night and everything is working as it should.
Thanks for all responses.
