Guard for transducer
Can anyone tell me if they have experienced the same problem I have had with my tranducer? It is mounted on the rear starboard pontoon on the bracket provided by the manufacturer, which is welded to the rear of the pontoon.Unfortunately it is right inline with the swim ladder. If someone's foot extends too far in on a ladder rung, they step on the transducer.I had one torn off the wiring.I would like to fabricate a small aluminum guard to install just over the top of the transducer to keep feet off of it.As long as it just sits over the top of the transducer it shouldn't affect the operation of the transducer should it?Any advice with be appreciated.
Re: Guard for transducer
I can’t imagine how an aluminum “box” bracket pop-rivetted over the top and sides of a transducer would affect it as long as it doesn’t create turbulence underway.

Re: Guard for transducer
I moved mine to the port side away from the ladder. My log already had a bracket there for it so it was really easy

Re: Guard for transducer
Would it be easier to modify the ladder? Eg. Attach a soft toe bumper at that spot to prevent people from inserting their foot too far?
