What's your favorite 'toon accessory?

#1 Post by steve1313 » Thu Mar 26, 2020 8:02 am

I'm always on the lookout for add-ons and accessories that make my boat more convenient, better, more fun, etc. I get the urge to add something almost every year, especially at this time as boating season is getting to ramp up.

So what's the thing you have on your boat that is your favorite? It can be something simple like brumate Koozies (the best!!), or something else more significant that you've added like a grill, upgraded stereo, GPS, or whatever.

Sunscreen. I hear it's great.
But yeah the Brumates are the one thing that has to come along...almost as important as the beverages themselves.
Next to that is the dogs, one of the main reasons we got a 'toon.
Third is the baby rake and play skool shovel since we always go to an island and gotta be prepped for the ducks and geese.
My wife has sent like a hundred grand of business to their Pelican rep and he's supposed to be giving us a free wheeled cooler so that'll be nice.

My favorite accessory is my grill. We spend a lot of time hanging at our sandbar and we used to be relegated to cold sandwiches. I even got a popcorn popper for snacking. :-)

for me, it's easy... my home made ( sort of ) power poles.... Normally whenever we go out on the boat we are there to fish... our lake is big, but shallow in a lot of places... always hated that when we found a place to fish, I would really disturb the water by laying out a couple of anchors to hold the boat... until I decided to buy some brackets and 10 foot poles to push down into the mud... one on the left front and one on the right rear and we were good all day. These are some old pics.

My favorite accessory is my grill.
I've got that same grill and it was a great addition to my boat, too. I used it yesterday to make some awesome burgers while we were practicing social distancing!

Craig..Be my guest... I don't remember off hand the size of the "brackets" I got.. but I just went to a hardware store and got them.. The pole(s) are 10 feet long.. each pole comes in two 5 feet sections and they just screw together like those old time billiards / pool sticks. Since each pole breaks down into five foot sections, that makes it nice for storage...they're made out of fiberglass and work really well, I bought the poles from Cabella's... the Item: IK-023810 wow, they've gone up in price, I didn't pay anywhere near what they're asking for them now, but I'm sure there's other places that sell them, and other similar shallow water anchor poles.
