LED light strips

#1 Post by Jake202 » Wed Jun 03, 2020 5:05 pm

Ok since got new boat I’m thinking about putting some lights under the deck or on the toons. Did you do this yourself or have it done? My pontoon has underskirting so the wiring is covered up. What’s the easiest way to wire? Did you run it to a switch that was already on your boat or did you put your own switch in. I am going to need to find out if it’s even legal here in Arkansas before doing it. I see plenty of boats on the 4th that have them so not sure.

just remember this 1 thing.....technically it is illegal(white green, red while underway, white while moored).....think "probable cause"; we use them under the boat fishing etc. 4th it is like Christmas morning...we 'Murica And have never been harassed.
Cheap ones off Amazon/eBay replace every couple years.

Like Bansil said, it's most likely technically illegal, but more and more boats have them. I will admit it's a pretty cool look. I may add a set to my boat this year just for a quick, fun project. Looks like Pontoon Stuff sells a nice kit for less than $200.
