does any one out there know how log diameter affects your speed? do larger logs make you faster by creating more lift,or slower my displacing more water creating more drag? any thoughts out there? :drink3

Larger logs should get you higher out of the water which should create less drag and allow you to go faster. Same thing for adding a third toon!

What mike said. Less drag = faster speeds.

And a little bit of diameter increase does a lot in terms of flotation. I did the math on this a long time ago and I believe that it worked out that a 26" log gives about 30% more flotation than a 23 inch pontoon.

More flotation= pushing less water out of the way= better speed, better mileage.

Just cause your deck is bigger than mine don't go bragging about it :tofunny
