Glad you made back safe and the boat looks great! There's no reason for the trailer to sway other than a lack of tongue weight. That big motor is a lot of weight way back from the axles.

About the straps....they're good to have BUT funny quip...my last boat didn't have any on the rear and I asked the dealer about them. He said "I can give you a set if you want them, but if that thing is coming up off the trailer then you're already in a situation where that's probably the least of your worries."
I strongly disagree with the dealer who said the above quote. The idea of straps is to keep things from moving. If you hit a big bump or dip at high speed the rear end can bounce up and reposition the boat on the trailer in a not so good way. Or it could cause enough stress on the front strap to break things loose. Speaking only for me, but the more straps the better. The two rear tie down straps are a necessity in my opinion.

Yep, that is what I thought, lack of tongue weight, and the big 350 is the culprit. Made the tow challenging but it sure is awesome on the water. :nana

Great looking boat. Glad the trip was safe and no big issues.

Glad you like the 350 Suzuki. We really like ours. Love the holeshot and handling.

Enjoy it!

Love everything about it but the gauge that shows me how much gas I'm sucking down when I punch it. LOL
Just a 43 gallon tank. Wondering if there is a way to add another tank? I'll ask in another thread but our local gas on teh water retired and no one bought his shop so for now I'm hauling gas. If I had bigger tanks I'd cruise 25 miles to fill up way up river.

Zero

I know what you mean on burning gas on the 350. Don't think they are any different than any high HP outboard. I also wonder why Manitou does not offer a larger tank. Their twin engine boats have 90 gallon tanks and I would love that on mine. We like to run fairly long day trips and more fuel would extend options. Ran a 90 mile each way trip a few weeks ago and had about 60 between options to get gas. Was a bit tight.

Fortunately there are 4 marinas within about 5 miles of our place to get gas for normal running around.

Interesting. Good to know Manitou does or did offer a 90 gallon tritoon. I will check with them about adding additional fuel capacity. Thanks.

Just yesterday we did cruise to our nearest gas dock about 25 miles up river. made it no problem but used 12 or 13 of our 43 gallons on the way back to our dock. Good cruise but ....hate to use 1/4 of the tank to get home. LOL I'll get by either way but will consider adding a tank if I can afford it.

It looks like you have room to scoot the winch stand up a foot. That will help with tongue weight.

So basically a gas run takes almost 30 gallons round trip. Jesus. I think even as big of a pain in the ass as it would be, I'd pull it out to gas it up or start paddling back.

Close. I did the run up there a couple days ago for the first time. bought 26 gallons to top off the tank. Cruised about 30mph all the way back. An hour trip (55 mins) and used 11 or 12 gallons of gas. So 24 gallons round trip. Won't do that often. I can trailer her to the pumps which are very close to the ramp, or I fill 6 five gallon cans and haul them to the boat. I have one of those hand help pumps that works great so I don't spill like I normally do with a full five gallon can.

I am loving the 350HP. it will get up and go. Plus, unlike the go fast I had before, it will cruise along nicely at 15, 20 or 25mph. My go fast was 5mph or 35mph ...you had to get up on plane and go 35 or faster. Kinda nice to have the go slower option if you want. Or get up and go fast when the urge strikes ya. :D Lovin it.

That picture is a perfect example of why you never use docking lights anywhere besides at the dock. As it gets a little darker, those reflections would keep boaters blinded for way too long!
