Pontoon Boat & Deck Boat Forum

Hello All new guy here. I need to replace the carpet for my 21ft fishing barge, question is “does anyone have experience with how well the polymer glides work for pontoon?” My worry is that they will add another possible ½” to the board height and that might cause loading issues or even unsafe travel as the boards will be that much slicker. It is the standard Bass Pro trailstar which has 2x4s and the pontoons are 24” diameter.

My concern is their height. I would worry they might dent logs.
If you tie it down in front and back that should not make a diff.

Found that you can get 3" wide so don't think it should be much different than when the boat is sitting on the 2x4s (1 3/4 x 3 3x4).
Did read where a feller said it can be difficult to load in the wind because the boat doesn't want to stick to the bunks.
Wind is my nightmare when loading this 21 footer.

I have a bass jon boat that I might put some on but will keep to carpet on the pontoon trailer.

They arent for me for sure as when we load I drive boat on trailer till I hit front stops and Betty pulls out of lake. I hold it in place with motor till it starts blowing out then kill motor. Our ramp is shallow enought we can do this with out worry
