Looking for Boat lift help

#1 Post by mwmhartwell » Mon Jun 14, 2021 3:07 pm

Howdy from Lake Hartwell y’all…we have a 24’ tritoon with a 150HP - our covered dock is located off a what kind be a very busy channel so we can get a fair amount of wave action (especially on Holidays!).

Our old (& I mean OLD) 5000lb 4 corner lift is now busted and after getting several estimates to have it repaired we’ve decided to go with brand new unit - We are committed to FloatAir out of Greenville SC (local, good rep and we know + like the folks who own & run the company) & we’re either going to go with a 6000lb 4 corner or front loader mount. We are totally on the fence & need to let the install shop know ASAP. Reason we like the 4 corner is that were familiar with its operation but then we’ve heard good things about the front loaders too. The folks who are going to install the lift see either lift as perfectly fine for our application except with the front loader we won’t be able to really back the boat in (stern first) and we won’t have quite as much room under cover if we just float the boat.

Does anyone have experience with a front loader lift or maybe both styles that can share what your experience has been?

Thanks in advance!
