We had a cold front come through

#1 Post by Marc K » Thu Nov 02, 2023 8:38 am

With rain and frost - so I covered the boat for the last 13 days. Temperatures will be back in the 80s this, so the cover comes off tomorrow and we will be on the water.

We get steam rising from the water when the air temp drops quickly below the water temp. We had some mornings at 28 degrees.

This morning was 31 degrees when I sat on my deck drinking coffee with a propane heater on. The leaves are coming down fast now.

I've been wrapped in a DYI building project at home. An empty walk-out basement now has two more bedrooms, a third bathroom, a laundry room, and two storage areas. Busy, but life is good in the cheap seats!

Hoping everyone is well!

Nice. I brought my toon home today. Will look forward to mid-march and getting it back to the lake.

Now if we can just get the lake filled back up.

Never been out on El Dorado, but I checked it out from shore now and then on my way to Ft. Riley to visit family. I did have opportunities to go out on Wilson Lake and Milford and really enjoyed both.

Our lake is only down about 12" now - it was down by over 4'. With 8.5' of water under our dock at full, we were just able to still get out. Air temps are in the low 70s until Sunday, so we will be out there more this week. A cold front is coming in after that. The good thing about cold weather is that I spend more time working on my DYI remodel work on our 1979 home. The last time it was updated was 1975 :lol3 :biggrin2

I was grilling some Beer Bratwurst along with mushrooms and onions yesterday, and grabbed this cell phone shot:
