Fell in love all over again...

#1 Post by mike » Mon Aug 24, 2009 7:52 am

We managed to get out to the lucky peak reservoir this last Saturday with the family across the street. It was hot and sunny (high 90's) and we had a GREAT time. I realized that with four adults and four kids the pontoon just cant be beat. We tubed and knee boarded, beached on some sand and swam around and just did what you want to do on the lake! I cant wait for the next time chance to get out.... :ten

Our surface temp had dropped 6 degrees in a week. We are now at 82 on surface and thats getting to cool for this guy. But it also is good as Fall fishing is just around the corner

Nice to hear you had a great day out, Mike.

We cleaned the bottoms of the toons on Saturday. The water has warmed up to about as warm as it gets. 79. It actually felt warm as the outside temp was about 72. I can't imagine all the growth on the toons in any warmer water.

Bohemia River was 87 last week, should start dropping ever so slowly now though. Usually gets too cold to go in by late Sept. unless we get a late heat wave.

I'm still hoping to keep the boat in the water to mid or late November depending on how cold the nights get.

Water temp never got above 72, lousy for fishing. Water temp was 69 when I went Monday, caught 15 Cats all day and only 6 were small keepers.
