Heavy Plastic vs. Aluminum Pontoons?

#1 Post by TOA251 » Wed Sep 02, 2009 2:22 pm

Hey folks. I am a new member (15 min) and want to build my own toon boat (22'-24'). I am finding it easier and less expensive to purchase kits made out of PE plastic than aluminum (hard to find aluminum period) pontoons. The toon is for leisure, in Lake Martin, Al., typically calm waters. Please advise what to do, where to go, etc. Thanks. TOA

We had a member on here quite a while back use the plastic logs. He was not happy at all. He said they had way to much flex to them. I'll see if I can find that old post.
