select new boat

#1 Post by boatwest » Sun Sep 13, 2009 4:59 pm

I'm looking into a tri-toon style boat in neighborhood of 22 ft and largest outboard it will handle. Mfgs I'm considering include Avalon and others. Boat would be used initially for a round trip Mississippi river trip, possibly solo, and then place boat out west in large inland lake. Uses will be mainly cruising. Looking for build quality, handling, speed to extent possible, and sea worthiness. Fuel capacity and storage would be important. Looking for any opinions and suggestions. Thanks

Avalon, Bennington. Premire, JC. So many nice 3 log performance toons. Best thing is to shop your needs and wants and you will know when you find it.

not all triple toons are created equally. for performance i'd list manitou, premier, bennington in no particular order. for quality there are lots of great companies, bennington, harris, premier, sanpan, aquapatio. alot of it depends on budget.

Wow! Love that sound, wished they would have showed the speed, boat and fuel consumption.

I think it's cool to be able to go that fast in a toon. However I don't think that I would buy one like that even if I could afford it. Toons were not designed to go 60 to 90 mph. I still like being able to cruse around and relax. Plus I would hate to buy the gas, my 90 burns enough gas a day I can't believe what 2 300hp engines would burn at full throttle. You have to have more money than sense to run one of these. Oh I know there are plenty of people who fit that bill.
