I'm planning on a toon soon. Will take all the furniture off and make it into a floating campspot. Anyone on here done that?

Didn't take all of the furniture off, but put removable fishn chairs up front.
If I move them to the back, I could pitch a small tent right on deck if I wanted to. So far we've only just threw out the air mattress, and slept under the stars.
Guess what followed me home the other day?

A 28 ft pontoon! I was shocked when I got home and looked behind my van.

I put a camping enclosure on mine, sort of makes it into a GIANT pop up tent camper

I did that once, it rained and the floor of the tent got soaked.
Then I bought the enclosure.

I have the 2 person version of that doc, only problem is that it's to small to sit up in. but you're right, it will do the job.

Certainly not as nice as an enclosure, but it would get you by. When I use to camp, I always had a tent big enough to walk around in. The extra 10mins. it took to pitch it was worth the extra room over something like a pup tent.

The fabric on mine is starting to tear (my kids fault), I contacted the company and found that they offer a replacement top with the bows the give an extra 12 inches of height, they also now offer the fly (mine didn't have that). It does fit nicely on the front of the pontoon. Perfect when you need extra sleeping room for guests, fold it up and stow it during the day.
Just over a $100 bucks
Thanks for the link Doc!

Nope. I haven't but I did see one two weekends ago up at the lake. Looks like a nice way to extend your dock or create one and get around some of the (way too strict) covenants on Corp and Quasi-public owned lakes. Don't have to tag it becuse it doesn't have a steering wheel and no motor. My guess is the guy picked it up for pennies; had older samaller dia. logs., but a pretty neat idea. Appeared to be a 24 ft.
