Boat is in the Water
Took Wed - Fri off this week as Wed was my birthday. Had the toon delivered yesterday got it in the slip at the marina. Took it for a quick ride down the lake but since it was in the low 60s it was a bit nippy. At least, we got one good day to get the toon in the water and ready. Today it is raining and we are supposed to get an inch of snow tonight. It will be gone by tomorrow afternoon but it will be cold and breezy. I am sooooooo ready for Summer.

Congratulations on the maiden voyage! Should be a great summer for you. I'm still waiting on mine. Should do a test run next week. Mine's used, but new to me and I'm excited about it.
Did I read your signature line correctly? Is that a 10' wide toon? If so, that thing must have sooooo much room. Sounds really nice!

Sounds like you had a good couple of days. Hopefully you can get back out there soon.

I looked at the 10' wide premier pontoons at a boat show. what a great setup with all the room. I would buy one in a heart beat if I didnt have to pull it in and out every time I use it. I asked the dealer how he was able to pull it down the road legaly, and he said it wasnt legal, but no one has ever stopped him while pulling it to boat shows.

Yeah Right! With your luck you would be the first one pulled over.pelicantooner wrote: I asked the dealer how he was able to pull it down the road legaly, and he said it wasnt legal, but no one has ever stopped him while pulling it to boat shows.
That lying salesman is just trying to sell the boat.

I feel your pain on the weather. Our boat was delivered is rotten weather, Wednesday was fairly nice, but being a rookie I wasn't taking it out of the slip without some help, which wasn't available. And yesterday and today suck - snow this morning. 60s tomorrow and then 70s Sunday. Looks like this weekend I can get her out on the water some more to see how she run with the PTX!
At least the poor weather has given us plenty of time to start buying stuff for it. We had a self imposed rule if buying nothing except some fenders and dock lines until we had the boat and sat on it a bit.

THanks much. You are correct that the major issue with the 10 ft is pulling one. They require a wide load permit. Since we keep ours at a marina, we chose not to get a trailer and just let the dealer handle taking it out in the Fall and putting it in this time of year. We chose the 10 ft boat because we have a daughter in wheelchair and the extra room is outstanding. She can park her wheelchair between the helm and portside lounge. We got the PTX under it and with the 225 Verado, I can get 38-40 mph at WOT. I have attached a picture so that you can get an good feel for the 10 ft width.

Re: Boat is in the Water
The extra width should realy help with the wheel chair. It looks like you have double gates in the front to make it more accesable as well. Congrats it is beatiful

Jeff... that's a beautiful boat my friend. The extra width has got to be nice. Hope you and your family have a great summer on the lake...

Re: Boat is in the Water
Thanks all. My wife and I both grew up on the water, boating and fishing. This boat has really allowed us to get back out on the water and enjoy it again. The bimini is not that hard to put up. I can put it up by myself but it is easier with two people. The double doors are nice but one is attached and we use the side door for access. We had a slightly wider door put on the side so it is easy to access. Our slip is the one fartherest out so a lot of days we can just go down and sit on the boat and watch the world go by. It is really fun on Hot Boat weekend (go to youtube and search on Hot boat weekend or Hardy Lake, Michigan). This is the weekend after Labor Day and we get a lot of fast boats on the lake. We also get a bit of the beads and boobs but nothing like BMR sees on the Chessie.
