Ok... ive got a small problem.
Water is getting into my engine compartment.
It only happens when going WOT.
Once going WOT there is a lot of water kicking around back there, but after traveling about 5 miles at WOT, i had like 6 inches in there and had to stop and wait for the pump to get rid of it.
Not good.
Going even 800 RPM less then wot and no problem.

Here's what im guessing is happening.
Once at WOT, water is running up OVER the tops of prob the last 3 feet of the toons. Up there on top of the toon is a hose.. prob 5 inch in dia. It looks like the throttle, steering, and such cables run through it.
It then bends around and then attaches to the engine compartment.
Im thinking water is running up ontop of the toon and then running down it and filling the compartment.

Couple questions.
I cant get up in there, due to no room, to see if the INtake of that tube is plugged up with something, or if like morons, they just left it open.

I can however, look into the engine compartment and see where it enters the engine compartment.
Wonder if i can just fire some expanding foam into there to seal it up... I know a stupid fix, and it would make replacing anything thats running through there a hassle, but it might just fix the problem... heh

boy do i remember those days. and you have the "better" design. my 05 regency (identical to your specs) had a similar problem. the idiot owner before me used to let the compartment fill up until water was splashing out on the carpet and THEN turn on the bilge. that big hose is where the throttle, etc., goes into the engine bay. my year had just a little plastic tube that was notorious for cracking and letting water in at or near WOT. i also found that i had lost one of the "skins" that is supposed to be flanking each side of the engine bay pod. same as true underskins, just did the stern area next to the engine bay. i had a mechanic fix this for me. basically he had to undo all the connections and then put a new better sleeve in place. he also had to refab the missing skin. then he took some 90 degree angle aluminum and made a new seal between the bottom of the deck and the side of the engine bay. he said that that model in general was VERY likely to leak where the engine bay seals against the bottom of the deck. sure enough, running WOT with the engine exposed, you could see the water seeping in through the seal i'm referring to. i had to spend a good deal of money to fix the leak and the damage the water had caused.

your newer design (unless you have the old design) of the black hose is MUCH better than mine was and it runs a good way up the starbord log. i doubt that the forward opening is the cause. you may have snagged something farther back and torn the hose, or your leak is elsewhere. easiest way is to run the boat and carefully stick you head down there and look. just don't get caught in the belt. i'll see if i can find some pics of the new design.

here are some pics i took of an 09 model at bass pro last year when i was trying to figure my problem out.

I would silicone the crap out of the engine compartment side. (much easier to dig out if you need to fix something) Then I would install a drain in the hose before the engine compartment to drain out the remaining water when the day is done.

That is almost exactly like my hose in those pics....
im gonna look in there when underway..... wish me luck.... lol!

Ya know, I remember this exact issue being on the PDB forum with a couple of good resolutions to the problem but as we all know, they dumped all of it. What a waist.
