Alright, so we took all 3 carbs off to rebuild and when we took #1 off we found one of the small gaskets (not sure what exactly it does) was torn and the jet was clogged with junk. Change the gasket, clean the jets and moved on to #2 and #3. 2 and 3 both had a little tiny piece of debris in the jets....not sure if that was affecting anything. Cleaned and reassembled everything. Pull out of the marina and give it all she's got and now she is running amazing. 5200 RPM!!! Thanks guys for all of your info and help. Now I'm ready for the season.

Probably varnish. You may want to install a water separating fuel filter if you don't already have one.

Yes. Better safe than sorry. I bought one for mine but haven't installed it yet.

Its a good idea about the water separating filter. Yeah, the #1 carb had some blue/green crap on it. But that's the only one that had it. I've learned alot about the motor and how it works! And if it ever happens again, i'll know what to look for.

Had to clean carbs on my 140 johnson, left fuel in it since october and it left the varnish in it also. Runs like a champ too. I should of put stabill in gas when i picked it up. I drained gas and it smell like the old shoe Peeww wee. Can hardly make a fire with it. had to throw fresh gas on top of old gas to get it to burn :lol3

Synchronizing carbs on 2 strokes is not at all a complicated task....Dont let that stop ya. 8) All you are doing is loosening a couple of screws and making sure the throttle butterflies are all closed and double cking all linkage adjustments(most of which wont need any adjustment but its a good time to ck).....now sync'in carbs on a 4 stroke is more tricky and requires special tools to do it...getting them right is critical for running quality on both but neither are hard to do.

GGB- Glad you got it fixed. I highly recommend a water separating filter as well..especially with the quality of todays fuel... The best way to prevent this from happening is using the boat regularly.
