Sagging Cover

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have a solution to a problem that I have run into. After several hard rains my mooring cover has started to sag in a few spots and now collects water easily. Does anyone know of anything that will keep the cover up all around the toon. I currently have 5 poles running down the middle but it sags on the outside in one spot.

I had the same problem and this is my fix. The cans have concrete in them and the PVC pipe slides up or down for adjustment.

Welcome

Unfortunately, the areas that hold water steadily increase over time due to the weight of the water stretching the cover. Outside of getting the belly created stitched up you could use a singe pole to elevate the area. My only trouble area seems to be on the rear sundeck. I put two 5 gal gas cans on their side an this elevates it enough to drain over the rail. A cubic foot of water weighs about 56lbs an will stretch a cover pretty quick.

On our 22ft, we use one pole and straps support system that seems to hold the cover up fairly well. Now, our slip is covered and we don't get direct rain, but plenty still blows in. Might be worth looking into..

We have the same pole thing that Venturous above has.
I cemented the bottom of the poles using LakeRunners trick.

Works for us!! :nana

That pole with strap thing wouldn't work around here, in an uncovered storage area. We get enough snow, and fast enough rain, that the straps would just loosen or stretch. I am working on an A-Frame set up for mine in the winter time storage. I'll post pics when done.

If you use a square support, it will make the side angles of the cover stepper and shorter. Making less chance for water/snow to start pooling.
Got to love PVC.

Agreed GXPWeasel.
That strap setup is only for the summer while in the slip.
During the winter, i put in 7 foot tall saw horses and strap the heeeeck out of a trap to the thing.
Winters n 4 feet or snow can happen up here too and EATS whimpy tarps for snacks.... :rofl :rofl
