Harbor freight has 12V water pumps for fairly cheap, I have thought about using this for a lake fed mister system for my boat!

I would use a similar pump as a live well pump. These pump plenty fast, and are made to be submerged. I have mine mounted on a square peice of aluminum on the back of my port tune, right by my depth finder.
Oh, and a question. Why would one want a mister on a boat, when you can just do it old school, and jump IN the lake?

I agree. As soon as we get hot, we're in the lake! Usually, even if we're not hot, we're in the lake.
I know when I take my parents out, a mister would come in handy, though. They've pretty much told me they're too old to go jumping in a lake, but they really want to go out on my boat.

Hell there are people on here older than my parents, so they don't have a choice but to get in the water if they want to be cooled off more than the Bimini and a beverage can do.Stephen wrote:I know when I take my parents out, a mister would come in handy, though. Re: Sprayer on Boat
I have two misters. These are basically little pump up holders with a short hose. They work great you can put ice cubes into them and/or put them in your cooler. Think I got the large one at walgreens, an probably sports authority or Dick's carry them. The problem with pulling out of the lake is the water won't be that cool plus the heads on the sprayers are so small, I think they would be clogged pretty quick.

That actually brings me to a good question: My mother has a bad hip, and while she hasn't specifically told me, I'm thinking it might be why she's not planning on getting in the water. Can anyone think of any products or devices that would help with her getting in and out of the water?GXPWeasel wrote:Hell there are people on here older than my parents, so they don't have a choice but to get in the water if they want to be cooled off more than the Bimini and a beverage can do.
We're supposed to go out this weekend with them for the first time for our Fathers Day celebration.

You might try one of the longer ladders, that you can attach to the front or side of the toon. These usually go about 1 foot deeper than the attached rear swim ladders. Another thought, you could just beach your toon, and then she could wade out in the water. We like beach our toon so that that dogs can run around more freely, and choose their depth of water experience.
