What manufactures offer (perferably galvanized) a single axel trailer for a 24' toon WITH a removable or pivoting tongue? Thanks

Curious as to why you would want a S/A trailer for a 24' ? Sounds dangerous. The tongue on most any trailer could be retrofitted for a pivoting tongue at a good welding shop, brake line would need a flex line added at the pivot point.

REALLY tight turning area to get it into garage. Awhole lot easier with just one set of wheels. Can you get a 1 ton rating on a single? Engine weighs 500# and I figure the toon can't weigh more than 1.000-1300#?

Sounds like something you would have custom built, weight would not be a problem. I don't know about the legalities of a S/A on a 24' but a custom shop would know. If you plan on towing any distance I would look at other options for storage vs. the trailer. I'm new to this forum, but not new to towing and my first reaction is "don't do it". People do things all the time that I wouldn't and its not an issue until you have an accident. IMHO 24' is too long for a S/A. Having said all that, I do wish you the best of luck.

We have a single axle for our 22' Premier Sunsation 225 and have had no problems with it.
It tows great with either our Explorer or Expedition.
The trailer is a Shoreland'r pt2325ab it is listed for up to a 23 foot long hull with a 2500 weight capacity.

think my 24 weighs about 1900 an that is light compared to most I think. If you go single axle you will probably need some high ply tires to support the weight.

We have a 2275 Bennington with a 150 hp. I believe is is basically 23 foot long. Our rig weighs in at approximately 4000 lbs give or take a few. This is according to CAT scales. We have a tandem trailer and would not consider a single axle for our rig. That's not to say it couldn't be done...just not for us.

Did you consider one of these? http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/ ... sku=194685 (This is the first link I found. This does not mean I recommend this brand) If it is a fairly level/smooth area it may work.

I think the Turd has it right Found 2 trailer manufactures within 100 Mi. and I'll see what they come up with. Only have a 3 mi. haul 1 way once a year so it won't see awhole lot of road milage. And yes, I have 2 of those hitch dollys. Invaluable and real work well with SINGLE axel trailers and tight corners. Thanks for the input, have as good summer.

Have you considered putting a ball hitch on the front of your tow unit. This does help to cut down turning area or do you own a ATV.

trykaravan trailers i think they offer a larger size trailer with a single axle. I did the same single axle because of tight turing radius. mines still a bitch to park. but i park it sideways in the drive way as the driveway isnt long enough where i want to park it. anyway they made my trailer.

Here is something to consider depending on your driveway material, terrain, doubt it would work in gravel without mods. Maybe you could get by with two, would be cheaper than a trailer.
