Can't get max power (easily)

I have a 1996 Tracker 120 Force and I can't seem to keep it at full power -- semmingly due to the throttle or cabling or something. The throttle moves freely forward and reverse, but when I push it all the way to max power, if I don't keep pressure on the throttle, the handle moves back a fraction of an inch and the RPMs reduce.

I'm guessing it is a "simple" mechanical fix, but I'm not as familiar with the boat as I would like (took it out for it's 2nd trip last weekend). Anyone have a direction in which to look? Any pictures of if/where the adjustments can be made?

Thanks in advance for the help . . .

some where on the throttle box should be a friction screw. It might be under the cover if you have a dash mounted shifter as opposed to side mount.

The throttle is a Quicksilver 300 series without the trim buttons . . .

I think it's like a COMMANDER 3000 PANEL (88150A40 THRU A48)

Anyone know how or where to adjust this ?

Anyone have an electronic version of the owner's manual ?

Thanks in advance . . .

I think i sloshed a gas tank goober or somthing into the system + same spark plugs for 3 years (fouled to hell)

i get speed and power back temporarily when i push the key in for choke.

so it could be im loosing partial spark on one or more cylinders as i still barely hit 5k but its obvious shes loosing some power.

it only does it under load, if its reved in neutral, no prob.

fires right up like a champ but has just an ever so slight rough idle

got her fixed, runs like a rocket again.

high speed jets were clogging so ended up rebuilding all three carbs ($90 for three kits  )

also found a cracked open gas line where she was inhaling air in the wrong spot.

thats the update :biggrin2

How hard was it to get em synced?
