HOW DO YOU POST PICS? I AM COMPUTER DUMB. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
The best size to use is 640x480 , so save them on your computer at that size then go down to upload attachment, hit browse then find it on you computer, hit add file and your done.
Now if you need to reduce them use something like imageshack.us, it's free and resizes while uploading, then you take the link and paste it , highlight it and hit IMG button and your done.
Advantage with photo bucket or Image shack you can get to your photo's on any computer and if your computer crashes your pictures are safe.
But use the free service and don't pay 80 bucks a year for it.

As the forum's owner/moderator do you have a preference for how images are shared?
Hosted Service (Imageshack/photobucket)
Pro:
It does not use any space on your server
Their interfaces do not require the poster to do anything special to resize images.
Cons:
thumbnails can be a tad small forcing the reader to open the image directly from the hosted service.
If the original poster does not maintain the links or the account information could be lost.
I've been doing a bit of both since I joined, my own images I will upload to photobucket and sort. For other images, I just save them locally and then add them inline into the message body.
I used to use a free microsoft utility called 'Windows XP Powertoy Image Resizer"
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... windows-xp
Go to the page listed above, click the tab for PowerToys
Then click through the download and installation of the Image Resizer
I use Windows 7, so I had to go a slightly different route, the Image Resizer is still available but not from Microsoft directly.
http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/
For those that don't go digging in the bowels of computers like I do, Codeplex is home to a number of utilities most are written by Microsoft Employees but published outside of the normal Microsoft channels 'as is' I have yet to find a utility on their site that does not function exactly as described, but there is always a chance (no worse than downloading any other freeware application)
After downloading and installing either the one for XP or Windows 7, now you can easily right click on an image that you want to be resized and a menu pops up Select the 'Resize Image' option, then this screen pops up You will have to select 'Custom' and type in 640 x 480, hit the resize button and you are done! (resizing anyhow)
My test picture when uploaded directly to this site looks like this at 640x480 When uploaded to photobucket and using the thumbnail preview link

I just found out that I can post photos from dropbox which is awesome because I can delete them whenever I want and there are no ads or anything like that and it's 100% free.
Here's how to do it.

Lately, photobucket has been doing some squirley stuff, and, while my images post fine on some forums, on others, including this one; they don't.
I believe, based on the fact that even the "quote" function doesn't work properly on this site; there're some definite problems here!

Same issue here with photobucket.
Re: HOW DO YOU POST PICS? I AM COMPUTER DUMB. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
What is going on with image linking on this site? I'm a member of many forums, and never have a hard time linking images from my own website. This one seems like image linking is broken. Can you admins look into this? I just started a new thread and spent about 15 minutes trying several different ways and codes to place an image inline. I finally gave up and did it as an attachment, but even your own tool that inserts the image inline is broken.
Help please?
