I have a 1990 Party Barge that is 28ft long. My throttle cable broke yesterday. I went to West Marine today to get a new one but they say they need the exact length of the cable and they cant look it up in their system. For some reason, they cant look it up by boat. My office is about an hour away from the boat so I cant go measure it. I have to deliver the cable to the guy who is repairing it for me tonight so it will be ready by the weekend. Does anyone know the length that I need? YOUR HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

My advice is to measure it, unless someone here has the exact same boat it will be to short or too long. We would need to know the motor (o/b or i/o), measurement from helm to motor, and helm height to even be in the ball bark. You could call Tracker, that may be able to help:

If you have a question or concern regarding your boat, trailer or equipment, other than your motor, you may reach one of our customer relations representatives at (417) 873-4555 Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am to 5pm Central Time.

If you have a question or concern regarding the motor that came with your boat, you may reach Mercury Marine at (920) 929-5040.

Usually there is a length and part # on the cable about 3 or 4 ft from the end (usually engine side) of the cable....it should be something like CC17918..the last to numbers(18) will be the length.
