Hello all,
I was wondering you all could help us. Me and my boyfriend are looking to buy a pontoon. We have looked at tons and most are either more then what we want to pay or crap. Well I found one today and want to know if you guys think its worth it.

Its a 1999 24 ft Landau (not sure of anything else but that) with a Suntracker tandem trailer. It has a 4cyl chevy 120 hp engine mercruiser outdrive. It looks to be in good shape with very little wear. It has a no slip floor, and a hard top. They want 7000.00 for it. Let me know what y'all think. I already fell in love wit the boat but don't want to waste our money.

Thanks.

Also I have looked on NADA with very little luck.

Welcome. If you and your BF don't know much about boats or toons then I would say have it checked out by someone who does. That 4 banger chevy motor is pretty bulletproof if it was taken care of but I would still have it checked out. I don't know where you are but if there is a marina or marine mechanic around, see what they'd charge you to check it out. 7k doesn't sound bad though, and again welcome.

Thank you for the welcome... glad to be here. The bf knows more about boats then I do and I am sure his brother (who has one already) would look at it too. but I will find out how much a mechanic would cost us. I need to learn patience I am just ready to get one and get on the water. :lol3

Be patient, ther's always something better around the corner. Make sure they check the outdrive, especially the bellows which can crack or get chewed by muskrats. Where are you guys located?

Trust me I am trying to be hehe. We are located a little north of Tulsa Oklahoma. Anything we get will be gone over with a fine tooth comb. Thank you for the advice I am just learning and I think I have bugged the bf to much with all the questions. Never really been into boats but never knew of this world of pontoons.

Welcome ! Having 2 boats with the same motor, I can attest to their reliability. Still, have it checked out by a competent tech and by all means take it on an extensive test drive (start it up cold, hot, let it idle, run it at WOT, etc).

What's a little North of Tulsa? We are about half way between Owasso and Sperry. We have a slip at Redbud Marina for our 22 ft. Suntracker. Welcome to the world of pontoons.

A good boat is half the battle. BMR is right. CHECK THE MOTOR AND OUTDRIVE. Even if it take a few dollars, have a good mechanic check it out. Don't let emotions rule. A good boat means good times. :nana

Welcome!

If you're new to boats, take a boating safety course while you're shopping around.

Ive been lurking around here for a while. Its nice to see a few Okies here besides me. I live in Yukon but have a place at Eufaula. Mine is a 2008, 18 foot Beachcomber Pontoon with a Merc 50 on it and it knows how much its loved!!!!
As for the boat you are looking at, here is how I look at things....If the motor runs and it floats everything else is minor. And always remember, It doesnt matter what anyone else thinks about what the boat is worth...Its are you happy with it and if the answer is yes whatever the price is a good deal
