Been quite a few over the years on this and another forum. I saw one a few weeks ago on an old Lowe. They bought a identical pontoon and cut the transom and welded it to the rear of new log. They did a great job and also added a 90 Honda. When we saw the boat it was loaded and sitting level in water where most are rear heavy

I just did this a few weeks ago on mine, would DEFINITELY do it again, and again.....
I bought another pontoon boat identical to mine that was in disrepair for 500$ and took a tube off that one and build a transom on the rear. I have less than 700$ into the project.
Gained 3" of flotation which is really needed with only 20" floats. I now can haul a capacity load without the rear of the toons going underwater at speed. The best part is, I GAINED 5MPH topend speed and now have a 20' toon that will just crack the 30mph with only a 70hp motor with a light load!!!

Good job rancher. Very cost effective. That is about 5 time cheaper than what I paid to have one of my logs replaced.
