So the first carb went fine tube was almost clogged. My bro ask if I gonna change the fuel lines.
Wasn't planning on it the look great on the outside!
Well lets just look at one he says.
Son of a bitch!!
We blew it out with brake clean and all kinds of black shit blew out. Even after that looking through it looked like a 16 year olds face
I cut the tube and lightly brushed it with my thumb this is what came off. Keep in mind this is after we blew it out.
Three more carbs and 4 hoses to go.

Good detective work! Good thing you took the time to do it. If you had kept on running it with a partially blocked carb, it would have been way too lean and thats how you blow a top end!

Definitely time for new lines. Make sure you really flush out the needle and seat area to get any of that fuel line crap out of there...if not you'll be fighting flooding out carbs for sure. Looking good.

So what made you clean up the carbs again? You were noticing a power loss right?
Are you rebuilding, or just cleaning the carbs?
Sorry for the questions, just wanting to know what I have to look forward to in a couple of years.

Greg,
it hasn't ever been right since I bought it. I knew the carbs were flaky and he gave me 300 off. It would only max at about 15 with just me in it. and 10-12 loaded. This is the first time I have even looked at them. Total rebuild kits were only 24 bucks. I did not replace any floats, though needles were included in the kits.
I will find out Saturday how she does and let everyone know.
Hoping for low 20's loaded

I can get low 20's loaded w/ my 90, so I would guess you shoud see the same. This is of course, unless you pack more beer than me, but that is doubtfull

Okay...
Well the toon had a lot more quickness to it!
Idled great! Sounded great! Throttle response was freakin unbelievable
Speed on the other hand was A whopping 15!
I only had 6 on board, and one cooler I know Greg only one?
Two things.. I was only turning 4300rpm's. So I am going for a prop drop of 4 inches to get me to 5100 in range of my 4750 to 5250. Going with a 14 x 9. Hopefully this will get me closer to 20. The other thing is when tubing behind it I noticed a shit ton of water hittin the underside of toon.
So I know I have some water in toons going to drain it out and underskin this fall.
Did take nephews tubing and definitely had more power to get em outside. And some cliff jumpin!

Man, I still can't believe you can't break 20mph. with that thing. The only thing that I can think of on my toon that your's doesn't have, is the underskinning, but hell that can't make up for 25hp. and give me an extra 8-9mph. over yours. Now my speed is by the speedo, but usually those are slower than GPS, from what I've seen. Also, a 9p prop sound like you are getting on the slow side big time. Do they even make a 9p prop for a 115? What size toons do you have there Curtis? Maybe that is the difference???
Hell you've got me stumped. I would surely think that your toon should run faster than 15mph. Glad to hear she's running better though.

23 inch toons. The only thing I can think of is the weight everything is wood all the benches the console and it is kept outside so not that they are sopping wet but could be a little wet.

I know its not motor have 120 in all cylinders.
Doesn't bother me a lot, but a little.

Won't have time this weekend to drain toons. It will have to be after vacation in August.
Greg your girl is a cutey!

A couple of things...Have you looked at the carbs to make sure that you are getting wide open?....and are you sure that all 4 cyl's are firing at wide open? It almost sounds to me like you are either not getting wide open or you are down a cyl..

I did verify wide open before I put intake cover on. I thought I checked all spark when I checked compression. I will check again IN 4 weeks after vacation! Thanks for your pointers on pulling the carbs too! I don't mind going 15 I just know it should be more, pumping water out of toons next time too.
