Hoosier Scissor lift modification ideas

So after two minor malfuctions, I'm adding some bigger "Stops" to the trailer. Those small one inch high ones are not cutting it. After a hundred mile trip down the road the boat took a bounce and went over the stops Lucky for me the straps on the back did their job  .

Also had problems where waves would push the boat too far foward while attaching the tie down straps durning loading :x

Look at my new "Stops" I used some 1 5/8" X 1 5/8" power strut (found at local electric supply shop or Home depot) and bolted them to the trailer with some U-bolts This boat will never come foward on me again.

Next mod is to hook a winch line up so I can crank the boat up to the stops
and pull up the ramp quickly. :thumbsup

Thinking of mounting more power strut under my existing hand crank for the trailer lift, and mount my hand crank out in front of it.

Anybody else done something like this
I need some ideas please

i've seen them with the trailer cable winch (that you have) and the boat strap winch.
just make sure the boat strap winch is attached to the trailer well enough to handle
the load when the boat tries to slide backwards.

Check this out. Here's what I came up with.
I used another peice of that Power strut, and mounted it under my cable winch.

This thing is stout :box

I got some rope on it for now but will maybe go with cable some day instead. I'm still going to put the big tie down straps on the front of the boat before I pull it out of the water, just for added saftey.

This should help with loading the boat, and the new stops should help so that boat never comes foward on the trailer again :eviltaunt

Got to try out the trailer today and everything worked great :)

I wasn't able to back too far into the water because the ramp dropped off. But with a boat load of people I hooked the rope winch line to the boat and reeled them in :drool
Hooked the straps on and I was outta there like a pro. The rough river water didn't give my no troubles with the new and improved stops.

If you got this same Hooiser trailer (2006) you got to try out this modification, makes loading the boat soooooooooooooooo much easier 8)
