I'm new to toons and just bought my first one, I've got a 24' monark with a 112 Johnson. When I'm going across the lake my carpet is getting soaked and it looks like it coming through the floor.is this why y'all underskin your toons?

No, I don't think the purpose is to stop water from soaking through, although it certainly would help. Normally your floor should be sealed quite well. The under skinning, I believe is to quieten the ride and have a less buffeting effect, and possibly increase your efficiency or speed.

Mine used to do the same thing with the water soaking through the floor. The newly added underskinning keeps my floor dry

The main reason for underskin is to stop the surging feeling you get while driving fast on rough water. Water slams into your cross braces and slows you down.

Also makes for a MUCH quiter ride, :nana
